Off the bandwagon

Well, I didn't make it through a year of blogging every day. Part of it is due to the crazy holiday schedule. So what has been happening?

* I didn't pass my moody class. Too much work, and not enough time with the holiday parties and activities
* The Christmas party, the Fall Retreat were both great events and people were blessed by it.
* My new house is falling apart and a big money pit.

That's pretty much it. So interesting fact of the day.

I am listening to this lecture by Colin McGinn, a philosophy professor and he mentions that truth is objective, and that people who say that truth is relative are not actually talking about truth, but belief. i.e. "what is true for me may not be true for you" This is false. Colin argues that him and his collegues all believe in objective truth, that there is an absolute truth out there. Whether or not it is possible to KNOW this truth is debatable, but when you say, "what is true for me may not be true for you" What you are actually saying is that "I believe this is true". But truth does not need believe to be true. Truth is truth. This doesn't mean that those who believe in objective truth are intolerant, because being tolerant means accepting someone even though you believe that their beliefs are false. Intolerant would be persecuting those who do not believe the same things you do. like evolutionists. (see dover trial)

Interesting, isn't it?
