Man, Last night I was slacking in small group because I didn't do the study, but there was a interesting point that Vik brought up, was that mercy was not giving someone what he/she deserved, but in that, the person to whom mercy was shown may never know that they were shown mercy. They could go the rest of their lives not knowing that mercy was shown to them, simply because they didn't know that they were facing justice. Isn't that how our lives are like with the Most High God? That we are shown mercy DAILY but we don't know it because we don't comprehend the Justice, Wrath and Righteousness of God? And for those who do not believe, God is extending mercy to them through Jesus Christ, but they need to accept it as well. Otherwise God is perfectly justified in dealing out his wrath.
Sobering thoughts. If we knew the depths of God's wrath as intimately as we knew His forgiveness and love, would our hearts not grow in love for God?
